About the Fiat Uno Turbo i.e.

Launched in 1985, the Fiat Uno Turbo i.e. was Italy's answer to the Peugeot 205 GTI and Renault 5 GT Turbo. It utilised a 1.3-litre engine derived from the Fiat 128, enhanced with Bosch multi-point fuel injection and a water-cooled IHI turbocharger. Weighing just 845kg, it offered a raw, boost-heavy driving experience that made it one of the fastest small cars of its era. While its chassis was often criticised for being less composed than its French rivals, its straight-line urgency and distinctive 1980s styling—complete with red pinstripes and Cromodora alloys—have made it a cult classic.
