About the Rover P4
The Rover 100 was a refined evolution of the P4 series, replacing the 90 and 105 models with a new 2.6-litre engine derived from the larger P5. Known affectionately as the 'Auntie' Rover for its dignified and conservative image, it featured a high-quality interior with wood veneers and leather upholstery. The 100 was the first P4 to feature front disc brakes as standard, significantly improving its usability in modern traffic. It remains a staple of the British classic scene, valued for its exceptional build quality and relaxed, long-distance cruising capabilities.

Rover P4 fun facts
- The P4 100 used a short-stroke version of the 3-litre P5 engine, which was smoother and more free-revving than the older Rover straight-sixes.
- Despite its heavy appearance, the P4 used aluminium alloy for the bonnet, boot lid, and doors to save weight, though later models reverted to steel for some panels.
- The P4 series was famously the preferred choice of transport for HM Queen Elizabeth II, who owned several examples for her personal use.
