About the Rover 200 BRM R3
Launched at the 1998 British Motor Show, the Rover 200 BRM was a high-specification limited edition designed to evoke the spirit of the 1960s BRM Formula One team. Based on the 200Vi, it featured significant mechanical upgrades including a Torsen limited-slip differential, 20mm lower suspension with stiffer springs, and a close-ratio PG1 gearbox. Its distinctive aesthetic—Brooklands Green paint, an orange 'snout' grille, and a lavish red quilted leather interior—initially divided opinion and led to slow sales at its high £18,000 launch price. Today, it is celebrated as one of the most characterful and best-handling front-wheel-drive cars of its era, marking a high point for the R3-generation Rover 200.
