About the Renault Rodeo
Introduced in 1970, the Renault Rodeo 4 was a lightweight, open-top utility vehicle designed to compete with the Citroën Méhari. Built by ACL (later Teilhol) on the chassis of the Renault 4 Fourgonnette, it featured a rust-proof glass-fibre body and simple mechanicals. While primarily front-wheel drive, a Sinpar 4x4 conversion was available for more demanding terrain. Its modular design allowed for various configurations, from a fully open beach car to a closed van-like utility, making it a cult favourite for rural and leisure use.
