About the Renault Modus
The Renault Modus was launched in 2004 as a taller, more practical alternative to the Clio, sharing the same Nissan-Renault B platform. It is noted for its high roofline and 'Triptic' sliding rear bench, which allows the interior to be configured for either maximum legroom or increased luggage capacity. The 1.2-litre 16v engine served as the entry-level petrol option, prioritising fuel economy and low insurance costs over outright performance. While it never achieved the cult status of the larger Espace, it remains a well-regarded example of space-efficient European design.
