About the Citroën C3 Mk1
Launched in 2002 to replace the Saxo, the first-generation Citroën C3 was designed under Donato Coco with a distinctive 'bubble' silhouette intended to evoke the iconic 2CV. It was the first model to use the PSA PF1 platform, which later underpinned the Peugeot 207 and Citroën C2. The 1.4 LX was a core mid-range trim, offering a balance of economy and practicality with a high seating position and a surprisingly airy cabin. While not a driver's car in the vein of its predecessor, it prioritised ride comfort and urban visibility, becoming a massive commercial success for Citroën with over 2 million units produced globally.
