About the Citroën C2
Launched in 2003 as a three-door alternative to the C3, the Citroën C2 was designed by Donato Coco to capture a younger audience. The 1.4 VTR trim offered the sporty aesthetics of the range-topping VTS, including flared arches and a body kit, but with a more insurance-friendly 75 hp engine. It is notable for its unique 'clamshell' split-opening tailgate and two individual sliding rear seats, which allowed for flexible luggage space in a compact footprint. While the SensoDrive automated manual transmission was technically advanced for its time, it is often remembered for its slow shift speeds compared to modern dual-clutch units.
