About the Renault Kwid
Launched in 2015, the Renault Kwid was specifically engineered for the Indian market before expanding to Brazil and other emerging economies. Built on the CMF-A platform, it prioritised low production costs and high ground clearance to handle varied road conditions. The 1.0-litre variant arrived shortly after the initial 0.8-litre launch to provide better highway performance. While it became a massive commercial success for Renault, it faced significant criticism regarding safety standards in early Global NCAP crash testing.
