About the Datsun Go

Launched in 2014, the Go marked the revival of the Datsun brand as Nissan's budget-focused arm for emerging markets like India, Indonesia, and South Africa. Based on the Nissan V platform shared with the Micra, it was engineered for affordability, featuring a minimalist interior and a 1.2-litre three-cylinder engine. The car gained significant notoriety following a zero-star Global NCAP safety rating, where its structural integrity was deemed unstable. Despite this, its low entry price and peppy engine made it a common sight in its target markets until the brand was phased out again in 2022.
