About the Porsche Boxster Spyder 987
The 987 Boxster Spyder was Porsche's first modern attempt to create a 'Speedster' style variant of the Boxster, focusing on weight reduction and purity. It is 80kg lighter than a standard Boxster S, achieved through aluminium doors, a smaller fuel tank, and a minimalist manual 'tent' roof. The suspension was lowered by 20mm and featured a standard limited-slip differential, making it one of the most tactile and balanced mid-engined cars of its era. It is widely considered a high point for the 987 generation and a modern classic among Porsche enthusiasts.
