About the Porsche 968
Introduced in 1992 as a track-focused, budget-friendly alternative to the standard 968, the Club Sport (CS) became a critical darling and a legend of the transaxle era. Porsche achieved a 100kg weight saving by removing the rear seats, sound deadening, electric windows, and air conditioning, while adding Recaro bucket seats and a 20mm lower, stiffened suspension. It features the largest production four-cylinder engine of its time, equipped with VarioCam technology for a broad torque curve. Though never officially sold in the US, it is now a highly coveted import known for its near-perfect 50:50 weight distribution and communicative steering.
