About the Saleen S1
The Saleen S1 is a compact mid-engine sports car designed to fill the void left by the legendary S7, focusing on agility and power-to-weight rather than raw displacement. Built around an all-aluminium chassis with a full carbon-fibre body, it was originally intended for mass production in China before the venture collapsed, shifting focus back to low-volume US assembly. The 2.2-litre turbocharged engine is a proprietary Saleen design, delivering 450 hp in a package weighing just over 1,200 kg. It offers a visceral, driver-focused experience with a traditional manual gearbox and a chassis honed through the Saleen Cup racing series.
