About the Peugeot 405 Mi16

The Peugeot 405 Mi16 is widely regarded as one of the finest-handling front-wheel-drive saloons ever produced. Launched in 1987, it featured a high-revving 1.9-litre 16-valve engine derived from the legendary 205 T16 rally car's architecture. Its lightweight construction and expertly tuned chassis provided a level of agility and steering feedback that rivalled contemporary BMWs. While the later 2.0-litre Phase 2 models added refinement, the original 1.9-litre version remains the purist's choice for its raw character and superior power-to-weight ratio.
