About the Peugeot 202
Introduced in 1938, the Peugeot 202 was the final and smallest entry in the brand's 'Fuseau Sochaux' aerodynamic era, following the 402 and 302. Its most distinctive feature is the pair of headlights mounted closely together behind the radiator grille, a design choice intended to reduce drag and protect the units. Production was interrupted by World War II but resumed in 1945, making it a vital bridge for Peugeot's post-war recovery. Despite its modest 1.1-litre engine, the 202 was praised for its fuel efficiency and surprisingly modern handling for the period.
