About the Ford Prefect E93A
Introduced in 1938, the Ford Prefect E93A was a more upscale development of the Ford 7W, designed specifically for the British market. It was the first Ford model designed outside of Detroit to be given a proper name rather than a alphanumeric designation, intended to appeal to middle-class families. The car featured a simple but robust 1,172cc side-valve engine and a 'sit-up-and-beg' upright body style that remained in production through the end of the 1940s. While basic by modern standards, its reliability and affordability made it a cornerstone of British motoring during the post-war era.
