About the Opel Manta B
The 1982 facelift of the Manta B, often referred to as the B2, introduced the fuel-injected GT/E as the range's performance flagship. It replaced the earlier carburetted models with a Bosch LE-Jetronic system, providing a more reliable and efficient 110 PS from its 'Cam-In-Head' (CIH) engine. Distinguished by its integrated plastic bumpers, side skirts, and Recaro interior, the GT/E offered a more modern, aerodynamic aesthetic than its predecessor. It remains a cult classic for its balanced rear-wheel-drive chassis and significant rallying pedigree, famously outlasting the Ford Capri in production.
