About the Oldsmobile Hurst/Olds
The 1969 Hurst/Olds was a collaboration between Oldsmobile and Hurst Performance, designed to bypass GM's corporate ban on engines larger than 400 cubic inches in intermediate cars. Based on the Cutlass Supreme, it featured a 455 cubic-inch Rocket V8 producing 380 hp and a massive 500 lb-ft of torque. Distinguished by its Firefrost Gold on Cameo White paint scheme and functional twin-snout hood scoops, it offered a more refined, 'executive' take on the muscle car formula. The interior featured the famous Hurst Dual-Gate shifter, allowing drivers to choose between fully automatic or manual gear selection.
