About the Nissan Patrol Y60

The Y60-generation Nissan Patrol, known as the Safari in Japan, revolutionised the model's lineage by introducing coil-spring suspension for significantly improved ride quality and axle articulation. The 2.8-litre RD28T turbodiesel engine provided a more tax-efficient alternative to the larger 4.2-litre units while maintaining the car's legendary durability. It features a part-time four-wheel-drive system with manual or automatic locking hubs and a two-speed transfer case. Today, the Y60 is highly prized by off-road enthusiasts for its over-engineered chassis and mechanical simplicity.
