About the Vauxhall Frontera A

The Vauxhall Frontera A was a pivotal model in the 1990s SUV boom, effectively a rebadged Isuzu MU built at the IBC Vehicles plant in Luton. The 'Sport' trim denotes the short-wheelbase three-door variant, which featured a removable rear hardtop or soft-top for open-air driving. While its ladder-frame chassis and selectable four-wheel drive provided genuine off-road capability, its on-road manners were often described as agricultural compared to modern crossovers. Today, it is remembered as a nostalgic workhorse, with survivors becoming increasingly rare due to rust and heavy utility use.
