About the Mini Clubman R55
The R55 Clubman was the first major expansion of the modern Mini line-up, featuring a 24cm longer body and an 8cm longer wheelbase than the standard hatch. Its most distinctive features are the twin 'barn doors' at the rear and a single rear-hinged 'Clubdoor' on the right-hand side for passenger access. The 2010 model year received the 'Prince' engine update, improving efficiency and bumping the Cooper's output to 122 PS. While heavier than the hatch, it retains the brand's signature 'go-kart' handling with significantly improved rear legroom and cargo capacity.

Mini Clubman R55 fun facts
- The Clubman's single rear passenger door is always on the right side, meaning UK passengers must step out into the road rather than onto the pavement.
- The R55 generation was the only modern Mini to feature the split rear barn doors without conventional exterior handles; they are operated via the key fob or a hidden electronic release.
- Despite its estate car appearance, the R55 Clubman was marketed as a 'Shooting Brake' to emphasize its sporty, two-door-plus-one-door silhouette.
