About the Mazda E-Series SR

The Mazda E-Series, known domestically in Japan as the Bongo, is a legendary light commercial vehicle celebrated for its rugged simplicity and longevity. The third-generation (SR/SS) platform, which includes the 1995 model year, served as the backbone for numerous rebadged versions including the Ford Econovan and Mitsubishi Delica. Powered by the naturally aspirated R2 diesel engine, it prioritises reliability and load-carrying capability over performance. While basic in its appointments, its cab-over design provides excellent maneuverability and a vast cargo area relative to its footprint, making it a staple for small businesses and camper conversions worldwide.
