About the Mazda 2 Hybrid
The 2022 Mazda 2 Hybrid is the result of a technical partnership with Toyota, being a badge-engineered version of the XP210 Toyota Yaris. It was introduced to help Mazda meet European fleet CO2 emissions targets, sitting alongside the existing Mazda-built 2 hatchback. The car uses a 1.5-litre three-cylinder petrol engine paired with an electric motor to provide a total system output of 116 PS. It is noted for its high fuel efficiency, particularly in urban environments where it can operate frequently in EV mode.
