About the Jaguar Mark V

The Jaguar Mark V was a pivotal transitional model, debuting at the 1948 London Motor Show alongside the revolutionary XK120. While it retained the pre-war pushrod straight-six engine, it introduced a modern chassis featuring independent front suspension and hydraulic brakes—a first for the brand. The 3.5-litre variant was the most popular choice, offering a blend of 'Grace, Space, and Pace' that defined Jaguar's post-war identity. Its upright chrome grille and faired-in headlamps created a stately presence that appealed strongly to the American export market.
