About the Alfa Romeo 2600
Introduced at the 1962 Geneva Motor Show, the 2600 Berlina was the flagship of the Tipo 106 range and the last Alfa Romeo to feature the brand's legendary DOHC inline-six engine. While the Sprint and Spider variants received more powerful triple-carburettor setups, the Berlina utilised a twin-Solex configuration for smoother delivery in a luxury saloon context. Its styling was a conservative evolution of the earlier 2000 Berlina, featuring a distinctive four-headlight front and a spacious, well-appointed interior. Today, it is prized by collectors for its rarity and its status as the end of a significant mechanical lineage for the Milanese marque.
