About the Jaguar E-Type Series 1
Introduced in 1961, the Series 1 E-Type combined Malcolm Sayer’s aerodynamic styling with Jaguar’s XK straight-six. This 1963 fixed-head coupé retains the 3.8-litre engine and four-speed Moss gearbox with an unsynchronised first gear. Independent rear suspension and four-wheel disc brakes helped make it extraordinarily capable for its era. Rust, originality and restoration quality strongly affect value.
