About the Honda S800

The Honda S800 was the final and most powerful evolution of Soichiro Honda's original S-series sports cars, succeeding the S500 and S600. Its jewel-like 791cc engine features a roller-bearing crankshaft and double overhead camshafts, reflecting Honda's dominance in motorcycle racing. Early 1966-67 models are notable for their unique chain-drive independent rear suspension, though most 1967 examples transitioned to a more conventional live axle. It was Honda's first 100mph car, offering a visceral, high-frequency driving experience that remains a benchmark for small-displacement engineering.
