About the Honda Mobilio GB1
The first-generation Honda Mobilio (GB1) was a Japan-exclusive mini-MPV designed around the 'Small Max' concept to maximise interior volume within a compact footprint. Built on the Global Small Platform shared with the Fit, it features a distinctive 'short-nose' boxy profile and large windows for excellent visibility. The 1.5-litre i-DSI engine was tuned for low-end torque and fuel efficiency rather than outright speed, paired with a smooth CVT for urban commuting. Its standout feature is the three-row seating layout that accommodates seven passengers despite a length of just over four metres.

Honda Mobilio GB1 fun facts
- The Mobilio's design was inspired by the European tram, aiming to provide a 'moving living room' feel with a low floor and high ceiling.
- It features dual sliding rear doors, a rarity for a vehicle of its small size, which allowed for easy access in Japan's notoriously tight parking spaces.
- The interior was designed with over 90% recyclable olefin resin parts, reflecting Honda's early 2000s push for environmental sustainability.
