About the Honda Legend KA1
The KA1 Legend was the result of 'Project XX', a joint venture between Honda and the Rover Group, sharing its platform with the Rover 800. It introduced Honda's first production V6 engine, the C25A, which featured a 90-degree bank angle and SOHC valvetrain for a low bonnet line. While the Rover focused on traditional luxury, the Legend emphasised technical refinement, offering a smooth, high-revving power delivery and exceptional build quality. It served as the foundation for the Acura brand in North America, proving that a Japanese manufacturer could compete with established European executive saloons.
