About the Honda Integra AV
The first-generation Honda Integra, known by the chassis code AV in its five-door form and DA1 in three-door guise, was a landmark for affordable performance. It was one of the first mass-market cars to feature a DOHC 16-valve engine, the ZC-series, which provided a high-revving character that became a Honda hallmark. Marketed as the Acura Integra in North America, it helped establish the brand's reputation for precision engineering and driver engagement. While often overshadowed by later Type R models, the original Integra is increasingly prized by collectors for its lightweight chassis, pop-up headlights, and pure 1980s aesthetic.
