About the Ford Model B

The 1932 Ford Model B was a significant evolution of the Model A, featuring a longer wheelbase and a new 'double-dropped' chassis that provided a lower, more modern stance. While the headline-grabbing Flathead V8 (Model 18) debuted alongside it, the Model B carried an improved version of the 201 cubic-inch four-cylinder engine, now featuring a fuel pump and pressurized lubrication. It shared its iconic styling—including the shield-shaped radiator grille—with its V8 sibling, making it a prime candidate for early hot rodders who prized its lightweight steel body. Today, original, unmodified Model Bs are exceptionally rare, as the vast majority were either modified into 'Deuce' hot rods or scrapped during the steel shortages of WWII.
