About the Ford Galaxy Mk2
The second-generation Ford Galaxy (Mk2) marked a significant shift for Ford of Europe, moving away from the joint venture with Volkswagen to a bespoke platform shared with the Mondeo and S-Max. This transition resulted in a more refined, car-like driving experience and the introduction of the 'FoldFlatSystem' (FFS), which allowed all five rear seats to fold into the floor. The 2.0 TDCi engine was the volume seller, providing a balance of low-end torque and fuel efficiency suitable for long-distance family travel. While less sporty than its S-Max sibling, the Galaxy offered superior headroom and a more spacious third row, cementing its status as a staple of the European MPV market.
