About the Fiat 70
The Fiat 70 was a significant leap forward for the Italian marque, serving as the bridge between the early Tipo Zero and the post-war 500 series. Introduced during the onset of the First World War, it was notably the first Fiat model to feature a complete electrical system, a major technological advancement for the era. The vast majority of the 893 units produced were supplied to the Royal Italian Army, where they served as reliable staff cars and transport. Powered by a 2.0-litre side-valve engine, it offered modest performance but was praised for its robust construction and relative ease of operation. Today, surviving examples are exceptionally rare, representing a critical chapter in Fiat's transition toward modern automotive engineering.
