About the Dodge Polara
The 1966 Dodge Polara represented the second year of the third-generation C-body platform, featuring a refined version of Elwood Engel's 'slab-sided' design language. Positioned just below the flagship Monaco, the Polara offered a more accessible entry into Dodge's full-size luxury-performance segment. The 383 cubic-inch 'B' series V8 was the most popular engine choice, providing effortless torque suitable for long-distance American cruising. While less aggressive than the B-body muscle cars of the era, the Polara's unibody construction gave it a more composed ride than many of its body-on-frame competitors.
