About the Dodge Dynasty
The Dodge Dynasty was a mid-size front-wheel drive sedan built on the Chrysler C platform, serving as a more affordable alternative to the Chrysler New Yorker. For the 1990 model year, the 3.3-litre V6 was introduced as a significant upgrade over the previous 3.0-litre Mitsubishi-sourced engine, paired with the advanced Ultradrive four-speed automatic transmission. Its upright, formal styling and plush 'pillowed' velour interior were designed to appeal to traditional American buyers. While not a performance car, it offered a smooth, quiet ride that represented the peak of Lee Iacocca's K-car evolution.

Dodge Dynasty fun facts
- The 3.3-litre V6 introduced in 1990 was Chrysler's first 60-degree V6 engine designed and built entirely in-house.
- Despite its name, the Dynasty had no relation to the popular 1980s television soap opera of the same name.
- In Canada, the Dynasty was also sold through Plymouth dealers as the Chrysler Dynasty due to the absence of the Dodge brand in certain market segments there.
