About the Dacia SupeRNova
The Dacia SupeRNova represents a pivotal moment in Romanian automotive history, being the first model launched following Renault's acquisition of the brand in 1999. Essentially a heavily revised Dacia Nova, it replaced the aging Romanian powertrain with a Renault 'Energy' engine and JH3 gearbox from the Clio. While the body remained a dated 1980s-style liftback, the improved reliability and the introduction of modern amenities like air conditioning made it a massive domestic success. It served as a vital stopgap, modernising Dacia's production standards before the arrival of the Logan.
