About the Renault Symbol Mk2
The second-generation Renault Symbol, also known as the Thalia in some markets, was unveiled at the 2008 Moscow International Automobile Salon. Unlike its predecessor, which was a direct sedan conversion of the Clio II, the Mk2 featured a more distinct three-box design while retaining the proven Clio II platform to keep costs low. It was primarily targeted at Eastern Europe, Turkey, and North Africa, where small saloons are preferred over hatchbacks. The 1.4-litre 8-valve engine provides a balance of reliability and fuel economy, making it a staple of urban transport in its primary markets.
