About the Citroën XM
Launched in 1989 as the successor to the CX, the Citroën XM combined Bertone's sharp, wedge-shaped styling with the world's first electronically controlled hydropneumatic suspension. The 3.0-litre PRV V6 served as the range-topping engine, offering smooth power delivery suited to its role as a high-speed continental cruiser. While its complex electrical systems gained a reputation for fragility, the XM is now celebrated by collectors for its exceptional ride quality and unique '13th window' design feature. It remains a pinnacle of French executive luxury, famously appearing in the high-speed chase scenes of the film Ronin.
