About the Cadillac DeVille
The 1994 DeVille marked the debut of the seventh generation, moving to a longer version of the K-body platform shared with the Seville. While the new Concours trim featured the high-tech Northstar engine, the base DeVille retained the 4.9-litre L26 V8, prized by traditionalists for its low-end torque and relative simplicity. This generation saw the end of the Coupe DeVille, focusing entirely on a spacious four-door sedan layout that could seat six. It represents a bridge between the classic 'land yacht' era and the modern performance-oriented Cadillacs that followed.

Cadillac DeVille fun facts
- The 1994 model was the first DeVille to be offered exclusively as a four-door sedan, as the two-door coupe was discontinued due to declining sales.
- Despite its size, the DeVille used a front-wheel-drive layout, a configuration Cadillac adopted for its full-size cars starting in 1985.
- The 4.9-litre V8 in the 1994 model is often considered more reliable than the early Northstar engines due to its simpler pushrod design.
