About the Lexus HS
Introduced at the 2009 Detroit Auto Show, the Lexus HS 250h was the brand's first dedicated hybrid-only model, designed to slot between the IS and ES sedans. It utilised a 2.4-litre Atkinson-cycle engine paired with the Toyota Hybrid System II, prioritising fuel economy and low emissions over outright performance. The interior showcased Lexus's commitment to sustainability, featuring 'Ecological Plastics' derived from plant matter for approximately 30% of the cabin and boot trim. While it was a sales success in Japan, it was discontinued in North America after only three model years due to overlapping with the CT 200h and ES 300h.
