About the Ford Ka Mk2
The second-generation Ford Ka was a departure from the original's bespoke platform, instead sharing its underpinnings with the Fiat 500 and Panda. Built in Tychy, Poland, it adopted Ford's 'Kinetic Design' language, offering a more modern, upright aesthetic than its bubble-shaped predecessor. While it lost some of the original's purity, Ford engineers retuned the suspension with a rear anti-roll bar and softer springs to provide a more compliant ride and sharper steering than its Fiat sibling. The Zetec trim was the popular mid-range choice, adding essential comforts like air conditioning and alloy wheels to the lightweight package.
