About the Chevrolet Van
The second-generation Chevrolet Van, introduced in 1967, moved away from the Corvair-based platform to a more robust forward-control layout with the engine placed between the front seats. The G20 was the heavy-duty 3/4-ton variant, offering increased payload capacity and the popular 283 cubic-inch Small Block V8. This generation is distinguished by its flat-face styling and shorter wheelbase compared to the later 'Square Body' vans. It remains a cult favourite among collectors for its role in the early 'vanning' subculture and its iconic mid-century utilitarian design.

Chevrolet Van fun facts
- The 1967 model was the first year Chevrolet offered a V8 engine in their van line-up to compete with the Ford Econoline.
- Because the engine was located between the driver and passenger, these were often called 'doghouse' vans due to the large interior engine cover.
- The 1967-1970 G-series used a unique forward-control steering geometry that was replaced by a conventional front-engine layout in 1971.
