About the BMW M635CSi E24
The M635CSi is the high-performance pinnacle of the E24 6 Series, famously powered by a modified version of the M88/3 straight-six engine from the M1 supercar. Developed by BMW's M Division, it combined Paul Bracq's elegant 'Sharknose' styling with a 24-valve head and Bosch Motronic management, producing a significant power jump over the standard 635CSi. It features a reinforced chassis, uprated Bilstein dampers, and a limited-slip differential, transforming the refined grand tourer into a genuine 158 mph performance machine. As the second official M-car after the M1, it remains one of the most desirable and usable modern classics from the 1980s.
