About the BMW M240i G42
The G42-generation M240i xDrive serves as the performance flagship of the 2 Series range below the full-fat M2. It is powered by the acclaimed B58 straight-six engine, delivering linear power and a refined soundtrack through a rear-biased xDrive system. Built on a shortened version of the 3 Series and 4 Series platform, it offers significantly increased torsional rigidity and a wider track than its predecessor. While it lacks a manual gearbox option, the ZF 8-speed automatic provides rapid shifts that complement its role as a daily-drivable mini-GT.
