About the Porsche 718 Boxster 982
The 982-generation 718 Boxster S marked a significant shift for Porsche, replacing the traditional naturally aspirated flat-six with a potent 2.5-litre turbocharged flat-four. While the engine note proved controversial among purists, the performance gains were undeniable, offering significantly more torque lower in the rev range. The 'S' variant specifically benefits from Variable Turbine Geometry (VTG), a technology previously reserved for the 911 Turbo. It remains one of the finest-handling roadsters ever produced, featuring a revised chassis and quicker steering rack derived from the 911 Turbo.
