About the BMW 2 Series F22
The F22-generation 2 Series Coupe was launched to restore the compact, driver-focused spirit of the E46 3 Series, distancing itself from the front-wheel-drive architecture of the 2 Series Active Tourer. The 220d variant received a significant update in late 2014, replacing the older N47 engine with the more refined and efficient B47 unit, which increased output to 190 PS. It remains a favourite for its rare combination of a longitudinal engine layout, rear-wheel drive, and exceptional fuel economy. While the M240i and M2 grab headlines, the 220d is widely regarded as one of the most balanced and capable daily-driver coupes of its era.
