About the Caterham Seven CSR
The Caterham Seven CSR represents the most significant engineering overhaul in the model's history, introduced to modernise the 1950s Lotus design for the 21st century. It features a bespoke chassis that is 25% stiffer than the standard SV, equipped with F1-style inboard pushrod front suspension and a fully independent double-wishbone rear setup. This 2.3-litre variant uses a Cosworth-tuned Ford Duratec engine, providing a more linear and torquey power delivery compared to the peaky Rover K-Series units it replaced. While larger and more compliant than a traditional Seven, it retains the legendary steering purity and lightweight agility that defines the marque.
