About the Ford Puma ST
The Ford Puma ST 1.5 EcoBoost arrived in 2020 as the first Ford Performance SUV for the European market, effectively serving as a taller, more practical sibling to the acclaimed Fiesta ST. It shares the same 'Dragon' 1.5-litre three-cylinder engine but features a unique torque boost to 320Nm to compensate for its additional weight. The chassis is significantly reworked with a bespoke twist-beam rear suspension, stiffer anti-roll bars, and optional Quaife mechanical limited-slip differential. Despite its crossover stance, it retains the sharp, playful handling characteristics typical of the ST badge, including a lift-off oversteer tendency and a highly communicative steering rack. Production of the 1.5-litre manual variant ended in 2024, replaced by a 1.0-litre mild-hybrid automatic version.
