About the Audi RS 5 B8
The B8-generation Audi RS 5 debuted in 2010 as the pinnacle of the A5 range, featuring a hand-built 4.2-litre V8 that shares its high-revving DNA with the R8's V10. It introduced a new crown-gear centre differential to the quattro system, allowing for more dynamic torque distribution and sharper handling than previous RS models. While often compared to the more tail-happy BMW M3, the RS 5 offers superior all-weather traction and a more refined, luxurious cabin. As one of the last naturally aspirated V8 performance cars from Audi, it is increasingly prized by collectors for its mechanical purity and 8,500 rpm redline.
