About the Alpine GTA V6 Turbo
The Alpine GTA (Grand Tourisme Alpine) was the first model launched under full Renault ownership, succeeding the A310 with a focus on aerodynamic efficiency. Its slippery polyester and glass-fibre body achieved a drag coefficient of just 0.30 in Turbo trim, making it one of the most aerodynamic cars of its era. The rear-mounted 2.5-litre PRV V6 engine, equipped with a Garrett T3 turbocharger, provided punchy performance that rivalled the contemporary Porsche 944 Turbo and 911 Carrera. While the rear-heavy weight bias requires respect, the GTA is celebrated for its supple ride and distinctive avant-garde styling.
