About the Vauxhall VX220 Turbo

Introduced in 2003, the Turbo variant transformed the VX220 from a momentum car into a genuine supercar-slayer. Built by Lotus at Hethel on the Elise S2 chassis, it replaced the 2.2-litre naturally aspirated unit with a forced-induction Z20LET engine. While the extra weight of the turbo and intercooler added roughly 60kg, the massive torque increase made it significantly faster and more flexible than its Norfolk sibling. It is distinguished by its 'ear' side scoops, unique Y-spoke alloys, and a subtle rear spoiler.
